The fifth edition of the Lamezia Film Fest marks the inauguration of the Paolo Villaggio Award, established by Gianlorenzo Franzi in accord with Elisabetta and Piero Villaggio. The new prize celebrates the great artist and his particular comedy that has its roots in the Italian comedic tradition but then, with the creation of Fantozzi and many other tragicomic characters, went off in a new direction all its own, wedding the grotesque to hyperrealism.
