All the Giornate titles in the running for the David di Donatello Awards
Giornate degli Autori congratulates the directors, actors, creators, producers, and tech credits behind the films on its 2019 slate now shortlisted for the 2020 David di Donatello Awards.
5 is the Perfect Number by Igort can boast nine nominations, including Best New Director;
Remember? by Valerio Mieli rakes in three, among them Best Original Screenplay; and
My Brother Chases Dinosaurs by Stefano Cipani has two, one being the David Giovani.
"We feel a little like proud parents of these David nominees," says Giornate Director Giorgio Gosetti, as he recalls how Igort was one of the revelations of last year's Venice Film Festival; how Valerio Mieli won the BNL People's Choice Award at Giornate 2019, and how My Brother Chases Dinosaurs became a runaway hit after its Venice debut in Giornate. "Their David nods bolster our ongoing promotion of Italian films and reward the commitment by ANAC and 100autori to supporting the finest independent films the world over."
