Promoted by the Basaglia Archives, the conference presents the archives that attest to the cultural legacy of Franco Basaglia and Franca Ongaro Basaglia, key actors in the reform of Italian psychiatry that resulted in the groundbreaking Law 180 in 1978. The roundtable focuses on the importance of online audiovisual archives documenting, in real time, the revolution that led to the end of Italy’s insane asylums as they operated until that crucial turning point.
