From the X year of Laguna Sud comes “Laguna Film Lab”, the artistic residency of documentary cinema curated by ZaLab, which begins with Laguna Sud and ends with the Giornate degli Autori.
From August 18 to September 2, 2024, in Chioggia, during the 10th edition of Laguna Sud – Il Cinema fuori dal Palazzo, the Laguna Film Lab will take place, an artistic residency of documentary cinema, coordinated by ZaLab, which will conclude with the screening of the short films made in Chioggia, at the San Nicolò Auditorium, and at the Lido di Venezia, in Sala Laguna, as part of the 21st edition of the Giornate degli Autori, in a special event organized in collaboration with SIAE.
The call for participation is open to young European authors under 35 with experience in cinema/writing/photography/animation. Four participants will be selected to create a short documentary film of max 8 minutes during the two weeks of the residency. The theme of the residency is “IMBARCADERO” understood as a place of waiting, meeting, boundary, and illusion.
To participate, send a narrative CV, links to any short films/documentaries/publications (max 3), a motivation letter, and a max 20-line reflection on the theme to the email: lagunafilmlab@zalab.org

The selection will be communicated by July 20, 2024. All travel and accommodation costs (room and board) will be covered by the organization. ZaLab reserves the right to publish on its documentary cinema platform zalabview.org after a festival presentation window to be agreed with the author of the work.
