SIDE BY SIDE: ANSELMO BALLESTER, THE BIRTH OF AN ARCHIVE

The talk inaugurates the exhibition on the poster artist Anselmo Ballester. Curated by Luca Siano and produced by Ferrara La Città del Cinema, the exhibition will be held in the Sala Laguna for the duration of the festival. With posters, photographs, rare original sketches and preparatory drawings displayed in chronological order, the exhibits range from the early 20th century to the 1950s. A special treat is a charcoal drawing by Ballester from 1910, when he was only thirteen, and never on show until now. The talk, coordinated by Fabio Ferzetti and Luca Siano, presents the first archive dedicated to the founding father of poster artists (www.archivioanselmoballester.com) and prompts a comparison with modern communications and promotional techniques in the audiovisual industry.
