This is the story of Seydou Sarr, who, in one remarkable year, went from Senegal to Italy, his dreams of soccer stardom morphing into fame of another kind, as an actor in Io Capitano by Matteo Garrone. He tells the story himself for the first time, in Seydou, il sogno non ha colore by Simone Aleandri, premiering on September 2nd.

Seydou, il sogno non ha colore

An intimate account of Seydou’s life as well as his recent encounters with some of Italy’s top soccer players, the documentary explores key themes such as identity, belonging, and, above all, the fight to eliminate racial prejudice on soccer fields, unfortunately still an aspect of discrimination today, even in Italy’s major league.
