Courage, curiosity and an original outlook
For sixteen years now, Giornate degli Autori has epitomized the film showcase that defends and champions the courage of independent film in Italy and around the world. And all the way, ANAC and 100autori have supported its mission and its freedom to choose films that explore new mediums, from narrative film to documentaries, animation and beyond.
The Italian filmmakers' associations' commitment to the organization of this event is rewarded, year after year, by the success of each lineup and the debates that unfold at the Giornate, be they on audience rights, copyright protection or the state of the film industry today, in an ongoing dialogue with filmmaking in other countries.
Courage, curiosity and an original outlook have been our guides on this adventure since 2004. And even if things seem to get harder and harder every year, our enthusiasm has never flagged: we continue to join forces, filmmakers and audiences, with the common goal of defending an art form that is constantly evolving yet has never stopped telling stories that touch a chord - an art form without walls, without borders.
