The Label goes to Corpus Christi

The debut film by Manele Labidi wins the People's Choice Award promoted by BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas, while the third feature by Polish director Jan Komasa is honored by the European exhibitors.

The 2019 GdA Director's Award
goes to La Llorona

The film by Jayro Bustamante was assigned the award by the jury headed by Karim Aïnouz and composed of the members of the 28 Times Cinema project.

The masterclass by Margarethe von Trotta

Today at 5:30 pm at the Villa degli Autori, the doyenne of European cinema, winner of the Edipo Re Inclusion Award for Lifetime Achievement, meets Lido audiences. The Cinema Astra offers a tribute to the German filmmaker, as well as the international premiere of Carlos Ferrand's "13, A Ludodrama About Walter Benjamin."

This year the Miu Miu Women's Tales conversation series featured Tessa Thompson, Hunter Schafer and Margaret Qualley. The talk was moderated by the journalist Penny Martin.

For the third talk in the Miu Miu Women's Tales conversation series, Lucy Boynton, Brit Marling and Diana Silvers compared notes, guided by the moderator, the journalist Penny Martin.

The conversation series at Miu Miu Women's Tales

Along with the short films Shako Mako and Brigitte, a series of talks will feature some of the most interesting women working in film and the arts today. The conversations get underway on September 2, at the Veneto Region space at the Hotel Excelsior.

Antonietta De Lillo presents the world premiere of the film by Mario Sesti on the Venice Lido, September 3.

EU President David Sassoli at Giornate degli Autori

The President of the European Parliament will be in Venice tomorrow to meet film professionals and the press at Villa degli Autori at 3:30 pm. Joining him for the discussion: Andrea Purgatori (president of Giornate) and Giuseppe Giulietti (president of FNSI).
